Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I am looking to upgrade since I still have a platter system. Is there anything other than the asrock board? I noticed it only supports 2 channels. I would like to pair it with a samsung or corsair stick in the 500mb-1tb range if possible.
Asus Z97I-PLUS
Asus Maximus VII Impact
Asus H97I-PLUS
MSI Z97I Gaming ACK
ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac
These are a few boards that have an M.2 slot.
What SSD you want to put in there depends on the supported M.2 format and vice-versa.
- PCIe or SATA-600
- PCIe 2.0 or 3.0, 2 lanes or 4 lanes
- M.2 type 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 (length)
- NVMe or AHCI
And many more aspects. If you want a socket 1150 board with the fastest supported M.2 variant, then go with the Maximus VII Impact. As far as I know it's the only mITX board with a PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 slot with support for AHCI and NVMe, along with the desired Type 2280 support (or even longer).
