Ive been toying with the idea of an ITX setup for a while now and ive just sold my Maximus IV Gene-z and Fractal Arc Mini, im pretty much made up on the asrock z68 itx board over a H67 for the simple fact of Intel RST, used it on the Gene-z and it is much better than without. Currently got my i7 in my h67 msi board with just my 2tb drive and the speed difference is noticible (neother system was overclocked)

Anyway

Im after a case that can take my 570 (i would be prepared to downgrade to 560ti if needed) 1 hdd and 1 ssd also a 5.25" optical. So far I think the only decent case is the Lian LI PC-Q08 but would like some suggestions of others if there are any

The Q08 isn't bad. Only qualm I had with it was CPU cooling possibilities. Aside from that, plenty of HDD room, full size Optical Drive, keeps the GPU cool (due to vents in the bottom) and looks nice.

For CPU cooling, a cooler such as the AXP-140 or similar would work well. You can also fit a H60 in the top fan slot. A 25mm fan will get some area cut off due to the PSU, however a slim fan can get around that. Another idea is to simply mount the fan for the radiator outside the case. Would look a little weird, but would get better temps.

Or you can always do some modding and install a radiator on the front fan, and move the HDD and SSD somewhere else. :p

Cheers for that, i was thinking either the axp140 or a antec khuler620, i was looking earlier and I saw some h50/h60 etc that looked like they just fit with a standard fan installed but from the pics you put above doesnt seem to be the case (pretty much the same as the v354)
 
If they'd just made this case 1cm higher, it would've been perfect :p You can still get adequate cooling performance, though, just not as good as it could be.

I just made the opposite, from a ITX to the Gene-Z!:eek:
Anyways, I can imagine that you are craving for a small monster...
That's my original ITX build, I hope it can help.
I like the system of RealityCrunch, with this neat air cooling solution, though!

I know I know seems crazy right, but tbh i didnt overclock much so the gene-z was a waste i like the ssd caching tho hence the asrock z68 over say a gigabyte or asus h67, plus its only about £10-15 more and comes witha nice media remote :) i only need one hdd as I have a 8tb homeserver for storage :) so an itx is an obvious choice for me, the ability to even have a try at overclocking is a bonus but in reality I probably wont even try, a i7 2600k and my 570 is going to be more than I need for some time
 
I like small myself, despite currently using an X500 :p It's fun to see what you can do in such a small space, helps to not have a 20kg behemoth of a case to move around when you need to, and doesn't take up as much visual space in your room. And as I'm gaming less and less these days, and as PC hardware requirements is plateauing, you can get by with not much hardware and still do most tasks at a very enjoyable level.
