itunes crash

I recently installed itunes on my computer and after installation i would start the program at which point it gives me an error. the one that states that "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. we're sorry for the inconvinience." I am not even able to start up the program. every time i double click the icon i get this error. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but that still does not work. Any help would be awesome. thanks

P.S. i had an older version of itunes and was upgrading it but fully uninstalled everything and started the install from scratch

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes???
Also, whats the spec of your pc? Itunes does take a decent amount of ram.

What OS are you using?

iTunes 7.2 has some known issues with Vista right now..

Yes i have uninstalled fully and reinstalled.
Im currently running a Intel P4 Processor, 1GB DDR Ram, 250gig harddrive, and my OS is Windows XP. For some reason i installed itunes on my dell laptop which has lower specs than my pc and it works.
