its time to do some [H]ard overclocking

ok i have been out of the overclocking scene for almost 2 years now but today i just built this badass gaming machine in my sig below, i got everything up and running rock solid so now its to to push this thing to its limits and get the most FPS out of it i can,

im completly new to A64's i have not overclocked since my Nforce2 A7N8X and XP-2500+ mobile

so what should i do and what overclocking programs should i use to tackle this beast? :D
 
OCing the CPU will only get you a few frames, maybe 2-5. OCing the video card will will get your more, especially the memory of the GPU.
For example, my BFG Ultra stock setting is 425/1100, but I have it at 450/1200.

www.memtest.org is a good program to check your OC because you don't boot into windows. It boots from a floppy or CD. When your OC gets too high, you'll get memory errors. Most relax their memory timings when going for an extreme OC. You'll have to search the net to learn about that.

Raise your FSB a little, and when you get stuck, you raise your Vcore, but doing that makes your CPU temp go up. The highest you want the CPU to be under full load is 65C.

If you lurk message boards like this one and www.extremesystems.org, you'll eventaully learn. Just start off small for now. You can easily raise your FSB up to say 210mz without doing anything else.

Another cool program everyone uses is Clockgen.

WHOA....... Stick to Intel dude......

Overclocking the CPU can definatly help in every aspect.... Unfortunatly, 3500+'s dont seem to overclock as well as the 3000+'s and 3200+'s but you should stil be able to get to 2.5Ghz Prime Stable... If not more....

Memtest is good for checking your Ram, but doesnt tell you much about how far your Processor can go.

There is NO FSB on an AMD system... Its a HyperTranport Bus... Similar, but different... ANd if you get your AMD Processor up to 65 degrees, kiss it goodbye..... If its a Winchester Core, you should keep it under 52-55 MAX

extremeoverclocking.com is another good overclocking site..... I spend most of my time back and forth between here and there....
