This is the 2nd time i ahve posted. I still havnted fixed it. Help.

My set up is 2 NIC cards in this computer (main ocmputer) and 1 in the other computetr next to me. I have a crossover cable connection the two computers. I get them to see eachother but when i click Share Connection on this main computer so it will share it with the other one the other one cant goto the internet even though i have shre "on" on this one. The other one sees the conection and recivces packets and stuff but it doesnt want to browse :/

Assuming you have no firewall issues, ping across the link. Make sure you have connectivity with pinging. If that is successful, then ping www.google.com. If pinfing a FQDN like google is not successful but can ping locally then you probabably have a dns issue. You could run ipconfig /all from a prompt and then paste that print in here, which would be helpful in troubleshooting your problem in a forum environment.

Looks like that machine is configured correctly for ICS. Yeah, post the other ipconfig print.

here is the info from the coputer im trying to connect.

anymore educated guesses? where did the guy that told me to post the IPs do he seemed like he knew what the problem was.

it first sounds like a dns issue ... on the machine with just 1 nic, try manually configuring the ip/subnet/dns as (for example):

ip = 192.168.0.(something other than 0, 1, and 255)
subnet = 255.255.255.0 (same as the machine with 2 nic's)
default gateway = 192.168.0.1 (the ip address of the machine with 2 nic's)
dns server 1 = 204.127.199.8
dns server 2 = 63.240.76.198

shutdown both machines, power on the main machine with 2 nic's, verify it has internet still, power on other machine, try pinging "google.com" from the command prompt to see if you can resolve url name addresses. if it can resolve the name, then open a web browser and see if you can view a website.

hope this helps, but please post your results after you try this out.

I did the above. Un fortuneatly it says "pring request could not find google.comw. please check the name and try again.' :/ anything else i could try. i know this works because ive done it before, i just didnt have to do all that IP stuff.

the other computer sees this connection. why cant it browse it?

Manually input your provider DNS IP's into the second machine. Well, ping across the link first. That will tell you if you have local connectivity but if that works but pinging a domain like google fails then it is likely DNS, which is exactly the advice I gave in the PM. In that instance use your providers DNS instead of forwarding through the ICS box like it is setup now.
