Just now installing Ubuntu (Thanks Musky). Got the BIOS and the 8431's installed last night. Should be up and folding within the hour!

Nope all 4 are installed. Quite a few people have said with these F sockets that they were pulling better numbers with only 16GB. Ive got the other 16 right here. Going to do some testing of my own and decide.

Well, I knew things were going to well...lol

Downloading the f@h script from musky's thread. Gets to a point when installing f@h where it says...

=====Installing Required Software...

E: Unable to correct problems. You have held broken packages.
Premature exit.

And then back to prompt....Any idea's?

I think what Stripka was trying to get at is that you ought to spread your RAM out among all the CPUs instead of just putting it all on two of them since each CPU has it's own memory controller and bus. As it is now CPU's 3 and 4 have to access memory over HT from either CPU1 or CPU2 to run!

The RAM sticks go 2 2 2 2
Two for each CPU.

Counterintuitive, but you populate the 2 furtherest slots away from the CPU, not the closest.

Needs more duct tape.

Congrats!!!!:D

I do know that setup makes BigAdv with just the normal Ubuntu install and 7.3.6.

Finally today I did the MuskyMod (install) to one machine, using 10.04-64, and it went flawlessly.

Funny, it didn't like 12.10. It wouldn't boot off the SSD only via LiveDVD. This has something to do the SSD, not 12.10 or the MM.

Doh! Didn't know this. First time messing with server hardware and multi proc's lol.

Yea not sure why it's acting up. Ive tried it two times now and both times it stopped with that error in the exact same spot. Hopefully Musky will be on sometime tonight to shed some light...

EDIT: Installed some updates...and tried a few things I found online and finally got it to install!

Up and running now! Folding its LOUD ass off...Soon as I can figure out my temperature issue on my daily driver Ill have it back up too. Look out!

really though, you should move some of them ram sticks so all 4 cpus get love.

The copper heatsinks are a work of art.

Noctua is nice, but copper bricks are macho. :D

There is something earthy and primal about a 4P mobo in a 1U case ...

Chicks dig it!

And here all this time I thought it was because they call you BIGted....

That is the same error message that I get from my wife.

lmfao.

BTW: I moved RAM just as soon as it was pointed out. No worries :D

Big shout out to scotty8 for damn near holding my hand for the better part of an hour in order to get my 4p setup optimally.

+1 for sc0tty8, he's a damn fine chap when he isn't stirring things up ;)

Nice work in getting some more power for [H] going. I assume it's on 33?

If it is not on #33, m33p is dead to me.

Thatd be a good troll though. Have you spend 2 hours helping me set it up only to find out Im folding for EVGA.

We'd have Kyle find you with his .50 cal Barrett. Rest assured, it wouldn't be personal.
