World of Wacraft, the game that requires so little to run maxed at full 60fps or higher.

I was originally running Windows 7 64 bit, WoW ran fine, most of the time, at 60 fps in places OTHER then Dalaran or other cities.

The game would freeze like hell on me all the time, then I thought, maybe the CPU didn't have enouhg voltage (Overclocked PC)
So I upped the voltage 1 by 1, untill, wow...the freezes stopped to almost once or twice every couple days.

But then I started getting weird ass glitches in Dalaran.
So, after my WoW account got hacked, I reformate with Windows XP 64 Bit.
Everything is wonderful, BUT WHY AM I GETTING ONLY 30 fps IN THE GAME???

Should I just try 32 bit???
Or go back to Windows 7??

It's driving me nuts.

Is it my CPU, not enough voltage? my ram? something??
I NEVER overclocked my ram, and I have 4 gigs of it, plus my CPU is a quad core, QQ66 or something to the effect (it's been so long, but I have tons of topics of OC'ing it on this forum)

Someone who has WoW running perfect on any OS let me know, or any game (Then again, any other game DOES run prefect with NO problems whatsoever)

Perhaps posting here is not as good as posting at blizz forums...but I think maybe it might be hardware related this time, or...since it doesn't effect other games, it is just WoW.

will it not go above 30 or is it just running about 30 ?
do you have nvidia, or ati, running sli or xfire ?

I know every time i had to reinstall wow it took abit to get my video settings correct.

try turning off V-sync in game and see if that fixes it.

back when i used to play I could go to IF and turn off the hud, zoom in and stare at a wall and the fps would jump to about 300 and the numbers would change so fast i couldn't read em.

Have you tried setting everything to default? I'm running WoW just fine on my main rig with Win7 64 and on my laptop with Vista 64. Both have Nvidia based chips and have different driver versions and I have no issues with WoW at all. My main system has a Q6600 overclocked to 3Ghz and it runs fine. I would set everything to default and see if you still have problems.

Out of everything I said, I failed to mention, I have a eVGA Nvidia 8800GTX.

Now, as I said, I am using Windows XP Pro 64 bit. Before when I was using Windows 7 64, the game ran just fine, but in Dalaran there would be serious graphical glitches (Running on Win7 64)

Now using Windows XP 64, I can go anywhere and it runs fine, but the FPS will go back and forth from 20-30 fps, with an occosional bump to 31.

Then I figured i'd remove the Multi GPU thing setting in nvidia settings, so I had it set for single performace mode.
It bumped my FPS up by about 10, maybe Windows XP is just not the best OS to use?

What are your shadows set at? Try knocking them down one bump more than minimum and see if that helps your lock-ups. Could be your card is straining to deliver and those shadows take a lot on highest quality.

FYI Windows XP Pro 64bit is based off Windows Server 2003.

I'd try disabling superfetch in Win7. I have noticed that it will try and cache the WoW game files to ram. It doesn't work so well with WoW.

Also what kind of freezing? Stuttering in game? Complete game lock up? Complete system lock up?
