I have an Emachines T6216. THe other day I had it set up, it was on and working. Next time I saw it, it was off and it wouldn't turn on. Is the power supplly fried? I think the psu would at least turn on regardless of other problems. Is there a way to test it?

Open the case check to make sure the power led is lit if it is then your psu might not be the problem. Your comp might be overheating due to dust packing the heatsink or a fan may have died some won't start if it gets no reading from the fan.

How to Clear your CMOS:
1. Make sure you write down your setting before you attempt to clear out the settings.
2. Turn off pc, it helps and protects your motherboard from undesired operation from resetting CMOS.
3. Locate the Round battery and remove, then wait a minute or so.
4. There may or not be instructions that you should turn on computer to reset the cmos. If there is, Please disregard step 4.
5. Place round battery back in and turn on pc, pushing Delete, or F2, Or F1 key to enter back into your CMOS to adjust your setting once again.
