I like to run my system stable a while before I begin.

Stock speed and the DDR 4 at 2400 ( one higher then default) anything higher and it wont post.

What kind of clocks can I reasonably see with AIO cooling?

System on and not doing anything much I get 19-21c. Playing ESO or other 'high end' game I get 28-32c.

I did some google searching and didnt find any list of what people tend to get for overclocking on air/aio cooling.

My DDR4 is rated for 3200 - it is also the 16GB sticks I understand dont do so well. Any tricks to getting it clocked a little better? Even 2666?

Anyone find that using the AMD tool VS Bios or better or worse?

TY all for any and all help and positive suggestions.

From what I have learned the chipset is widely compatible with most RAM out of the box .

The guys here would first ask 'what kind of Mainboard' then direct you to update the BIOS and find the RAM QVL list . It may be less headache to sell your RAM and grab something off the list or the Sammy based DIMMs

The most compatible RAM at higher speeds is the SAMSUNG 'b' chips ...which is not listed in the descriptions but can be identified with a '14-14-14-34' type of timings @ 3200 ..those seem to work

Have been watching this because I started shopping for lowest CAS 2400 and found I couldn't get the CAS 10 in 4GB sticks so starting looking for alternatives ..I think the Sammy based stuff is also only 8GB sticks unless someone has a suggestion for a 4GB sku

Magic Box #1 :
** Asus Sabertooth 990FX, AMD FX 8350 @ 4.1 Ghz, 24Gb DDR3 1600, GTX 680 4GB @ 5760*1080 3*1080 NV Surround, ~ 2.5 TB Storage **

Magic Box #2
** Asus Crosshair VI Hero, Ryzen 1800x, 32GB DDR4 3200, GTX 980 ti, 4K Samsung 3d, WD-Blue 4TB, Crucial MX 300 M.2 Sata 500 GB (Boot), Intel M.2 NVME 500 GB (Games/MMO's), StarTech PCIE 3.0, 1x M.2 NVMe 2X M.2 SATA III **

While I would not mind ramping Ram speed some I am not worried about it enough to deal with selling what I have and buying more.

Does Ryzen OC top out at 4.1 ish? Seems to be what I am reading.

Some will hit 4.2 but that is pretty rare. 4.0 is the common max most people hit and 25% or so can hit 4.1, 4.2 is around 5% or less. Extreme cooling is needed for higher speeds. Other then benchmarks tho you would be hard pressed to notice the difference from 3.8 to 4.2 anyway.
