Alright... here's my woes.

I was going to star overclocking my machine when I realized that for some odd reason my CPU multiplier was set to 4 and my FSB was set to 200. Resulting in 800mhz. WOOT! doesn't that rock.

My RAM is Muskin Level 1, 512mb PC3500
My CPU is actually a DTR notebook chip that is 3200+.

If anyone has knowledge about this I'd love to bash heads with you cause I can't even get the thing to hold onto a CPU Multi of 10x.

I shouldn't even have to mess with the CPU voltage to get it to run at stock, which I actually don't know the settings for cause my MoBo doesn't boot at stock.

I didn't really notice till now cause I've been doing mostly webmastering and other stuff that wasn't so CPU intensive. Now that I bought Battlefield 2 (yay for that) I need my CPU to actually run at full speed :) Imagine that.

Let the OCing go on!

PS- I'm new to the whole A64 OCing and I was reading E's guide to it last night so I'm only begining to be educated in the ways, so be nice.
 
So... from default, your mobo reads the multiplier as 4? That doesn't really sound like a CPU problem, I'd just flash the mobo to the newest bios and see where it goes from there :).
 
the voltage is probably also defaulting to .95v.. bump it to 1.4v for stock :D

Well right now I have CnC turned off :)... You think it's okay? Who knows... right now I'm fustrated with my CPU as it is...

The option is either 1.3V or 1.5V so it's a big jump :)
I tried pulling anything past 8x CPU Multi and the thing won't boot up at all.
Thing is I know I've had this system running at 2.2Ghz before... so I'm wondering what's up.
At the moment my PC is going amazingly slow, it even goes faster (I swear) with my 4x CPU multi.
I figured, since I tend to be confusing, I'm going to go ahead and link in my CPUz thing. (Which I'm having a problem with right now cause my Adobe won't open :)

Okay adobe just closed and said "Sorry can't do that cause you just had a system error"

So I'm asuming something is up :)

I should restart with 4x mutli, brb...

btw... a few of my icons are colorless
 
Alright, I'm back, no wierd unstableness, but I'm running really slow

Im running a Prime inplace to make sure I'm okay at this setting
EDIT: Prime ran for about 5 mins, it's okay for now... Now I'm just wondering what i can do. Right now I'm reading all your guide over again.

btw my temps are in the high 30s
 
Alright, I restarted... and bumped up some settings, which are still below stock, but better...

Everything seems stable... I'm going to keep climbing... but for some reason I've never been able to get past 8.5 or so... maybe I'll find the key :)

I've got the CPUz for this stage saved and I can up it if you want to see it.

Edit: Alright, going to restart and try bumping things up.
You think I should set the divider? if to what?

Note: I'm mainly going for better gaming performance, I mean I do work with Photoshop and Dreamweaver, but duh, you don't need half the power I have for that so, gaming is the benchmark.
 
Alright, wierdest things are happening...

So first I realize what I thought was 1.5v is actually 1.05v... You ask HOW I could make this mistake... well in my BIOS it writes 1.05v like this...

1. 5v
1. 7v
1.1v
1.12v
....
1.25v < max Voltage

Edit: but wait, could I use Clockgen to get past this? cause in clockgen I can tell it to do up to 1.5v... anyways, I'm using clockgen to up my HTT... since I'm still at 1:1 I can't go to high, I'm at 210 right now, my ram at 2,3,3 probably can only do 220 though.. if you look down you'll see the timings are a bit messed up, not sure why, in the BIOS I set them to 2,3,3 << EDITx2: yeah right, my system locked up as soon as I set it to 217.
This kinda sux... I can't get past stock speeds for anything... I'm running 210

So I boot up my PC stock and amazingly it boots at 2210mhz, 11x Mutli 200HTT

Wierd... cause I couldn't get my CPU to at like that if my life depended on it
Another odd thing is when I check my CPU using Everest, it's at 1.5v, an option that I don't even have on my Mobo! eek! wtf?

So my issue here is that my RAM can take more pressure, I'd like to at least run my RAM at 220mhz... Thing is, as soon as I try to manual edit anything in my bios, I can't get the bitch to run.

I'm fresh out of ideas... Here's the CPUz for when I let my MB choose.
NOTE: I do have Cool'n'quiet enabled (default)... so who knows if this thing will keep at this speed

Oh and is my RAM going a bit slow? at only 3000mb/s...

I'd love some help tweaking my system, I've exhausted myself :)

Here's the CPUz screen for my RAM... why in the world are the timings different for each slot? that makes no sence to me :confused:

hey i got a question, i have the same mobo, and i dont have the option to hange the cpu multi. i want cause my cpu multi is unlocked on my cpu (engineeing test sample). does abios update unlock that or what?
