Issues using Microsoft Wireless Keyboards?

I just bought my new Mobo+cpu and I'm still using my wireless optical desktop because there is nothing more satisfying than playing worms from my bed early saturday mornings. However, as of late I've been noticing that my keyboard and mouse have both been having issues playing games. This could be because I'm running the new drivers for the Intellipont/type, or because... my computer hates me. But when I'm playing Ut2004/Doom3/CS/Worms and probably any game, the keys and the mouse "reset" after being held down for several seconds. I find this mighty annoying, as I no longer have time to fill up the rocket launcher in ut 2004, or do too much in doom 3 with the chaingun/plasma gun. I don't think that this is an issue with the games, rather the hardware or the drivers. Is anyone else having similar problems or know of some simple things that I could do to fix this?
