Issue with Megaworks 550

Hey guys, just recently got a new set of Cambridge Soundworks (Creative) Megaworks 550D speakers. Unfortunately... the rear right channel seems to be dead. Its not the speaker, I've plugged the "bad" speaker into, say, the front left channel and it works, and the "good" speaker from the front left then doesn't work in the rear right.

I'm pretty sure the problem lies with the out from the subwoofer... anyone experienced this problem and have a quick fix for me? Or am I RMAing my beautiful new speakers the day I get them? :(
 
I feel it's my obligation to try to resolve this as I was the one who sold him the speakers :(

Stuart, please try the following things to isolate the problem:

1. To rule out the cables, swap the front L/R channels with the rears where they connect to the subwoofer.

2. If problem persists, undo #1 and plug the front channel input into the rear channel output of your soundcard and the rear channel input into the front channel output.

3. If all else fails restore your soundcard's mixer defaults and then select 5.1 channel output. This is possible but unlikely to be the way your fader is set up.

I hope one of these will take care of things for you.
 
Ahhh, good news OTL, I woke up this morn about an hour early so I could fiddle... and I don't know what I did, I messed around with about a hundred things, but suddenly its working again? :confused:

Oh well! They sound awesome! Definately worth the wait and small confusion, haha. So... if the same thing goes wrong for any of you... just fiddle. Problem will be fixed with enough fiddling. Heh. :rolleyes:
