I have a two node DAG cluster in my lab. The setup is listed below.

Code:
Mail1:
Server 2008 R2
Exchange 2010
LAN IP: 192.168.0.151
Replication IP: 192.168.1.50
Code:
Mail2:
Server 2008 R2
Exchange 2010
LAN IP: 192.168.0.152
Replication IP: 192.168.1.51
Code:
DAG:
IP:192.168.0.153
FSW: \\PDC\DAG

What I am seeing is MAIL1 showing as down even though it is up with the below error from the Quorum Manager.
Code:
Node 'MAIL1' failed to form a cluster.
This was because the witness was not accessible.
Please ensure that the witness resource is online and available.
I have checked the firewalls for blocked communication. I have checked the share and confirmed behavior on both boxes. As it stands I have run out of diagnostic options that I know of. Has anyone ever seen this issue before? Anyone have a suggestion?

Have you deployed your hub transport servers first?

Normally the hub transport is setup as the witness server for the cluster

Edit: what replication type are you using? CCR?

My FSW is the domain controller. Hub Transport was not installed. I know in 2007 it needed to be but 2010 you do not need one.

Yes it is CCR.

This all worked for about a few weeks then starting this month it hasn't.

Ahh, i haven't even started to look at 2010, still in love with 07

Sounds like you may have a dns issue going on.

Turns out it was the firewall on the FSW. Everything is working now. I did check the firewall logs but I must have missed the blocks.
