Issue with BenQ XL2420TE display?

I recently got a BenQ XL2420TE, but I can't get over how strange the panel looks, especially when displaying dark, solid colors. There is a very patterned graininess imposed onto the image, the pattern is not unlike the following example.

The pattern is of course very small, but is persistent throughout the screen. Has anyone else experienced this issue? The backlight is also very uneven, but that might be a different story altogether.

I managed to take a few pictures that mildly depict the issue. The lines on the screen are much clearer in person, especially with Strobelight on. You might have to view the pictures from a far enough distance to see the pattern.

Hmmm, perhaps I should post this in the LightBoost thread, but that would be slightly off topic. Can anyone with a XL2420TE confirm not having a similar issue at the very least?

try to decrease the sharpness

seems to be the pixels, i think you are too neat to the display, what is the distance from you and the monitor ?

Changing the sharpness either way makes the image worse. My eyes are roughly 3ft away from the monitor. The pattern is strongest at higher brightness. It also appears to be worse at higher refresh rates. At 60Hz, only ~1/3rd of the pattern is visible. I hope that there isn't an issue with the DVI input on the monitor. I will be ordering another dual-link DVI cable so that I can take the cable out of the equation.
