Since I've built this rig, I've been running on the stock Windows driver for the simple reason that the official AMD/ATI sets causer flickering, tearing and massive framerate drops. It's a little hard to explain, but my windows flicker and my games drop to 10/20 FPS. If I revert back to the stock (e.g., Windows') drivers, I get steady 60FPS across the board, but it'd be nice to have the real thing so I can enjoy the bugfixes and improvements.
I tried to record the problem using a desktop capture, but it doesn't capture the flickering so here's a blurry YouTube video I grabbed from my cellphone:

Is there anything I can do? This occurs on a regular basis every time I install ATI drivers. I mean it's a straightforward process, what could I be doing wrong?
VIDEO: ATI 5850HD
CPU: Intel i7 870 @ 3.52
OS: Win 7 X64

[UPDATE] Disabling ATI Overdrive (which seems to be enabled by default for some reason) fixed the flickering, but not the framerate issue. Strangely enough, in World of Warcraft, my FPS drops to 30 when I play in a window and hovers around 130 in fullscreen. It didn't do this before.
[UPDATE2] Noticed that Windows Aero was no longer working, stating that the mirror driver was incompatible. A little research and BAM! Found the source of my problem: LogMeIn. It uses it's own set of display drivers and when I upgraded my video drivers, it seems to have gone fubar.
In short, everything is fixed.
