Taking back my 8IPE1000-L. Only problem now is selecting a new mainboard. Abit or Asus, what do you guys think?

why are you returning the gigabyte mobo.. any particular reasons.. coz i just got one!

depends on whats important to you. You cant go wrong with any of these 865/875 Abit mobo's though. They all rock!

I have an IC-7 b/c I wanted to be sure I had the top performance at ultra high FSBs. And I had an extra NIC laying around and didnt need the gigaLAN. Plus trying to stay resonable on budget.

If money is no object get the IC-7 Max3 or Max2.

If you dont need firewire and want the cheapest thing get the IS7-E (no Raid 0 support)

If you want firewire, Raid 0, and still pretty cheap get the IS7.

However, dont get the AI7 as its memory performance sucks. You cant turn on PAT at all it seems.

Thanks guys. Im returning the gigabyte board cause its really picky with memory. Went through a batch of corsair, buffalo and kingston. Going to my local computer store to get the IS7/IC7. Hope this fixed everything.

You can expect them all to be a bit picky when using ratio's other than 1:1.

havent had a problem with either Geil Golden Dragon 3200 2-3-3-6-1T Or Corsair XMS3200 2-3-3-6

both run fine at 2-2-2-6 one on Abit IC-7 & other on IS-7.

2x256 configurations on both systems

Got the IS7 with some corsair3500c2 rev 1.1. Everything is running good 2.0 @ 3.0. Going to go for more once om done dling. THanks guys.

I have one of each. Can't go wrong either way. The Asus has a few more Bells and Whistles but the IS7-E is a very capable and stable board for less money.

Take your pick and don't worry. You can't go wrong!!

why would you compare an ASUS P4PE board to the IS7 and IC7 of Abit? the P4PE last i checked was built on the old 533mhz FSB 845PE chipset
