IS7 + 2.8C = No post

Hi all,

I got an IS7 and P42.8C about 2 weeks ago. I had problems getting it to boot, it'd boot, but no post. At the time I thought it was the processor, so I RMA'd it, and just got my replacement today. Same deal. The Ram, CD - Drive, HDD, everything seems to be in working order. Im thinking Im forgetting to do something stupid, or its my mainboard. Someone PLEASE HELP!

did you discharge the CMOS data with the CMOS jumper? Sometimes some really weird data is in there when you get a new board, and resetting it can fix your problems.

Yea - I reset CMOS, a few times. That was my initial thought.

Im thinking my IS7 = DOA

Take the motherboard out of the case and try booting then.

I think he means that you may be shorting on the case, and removing the mobo from the case and booting it would determine that. Just put the mobo on the box it came in and hook it all up, and boot it like that.

If there isn't a grounding issue, you may have a DOA board. I feel sorry for you considering I put a box together with that same board and processor less than 2 months ago and it booted first time.
