Ok so I've noticed when people post there temps the cpu temp is usually hotter than the core temps. My core temps are more than 10degrees C hotter than my cpu temp. What could be doing this?
 
The "CPU" temp is meaningless. Just pay attention to the core temperatures. Ideally, you should be using either Core Temp or Real Temp to monitor your temperatures, as they are the most accurate and best-documented apps.

Indeed.

Also, CPU temp is most of the time the CPU socket and so should be cooler than the core temps anyway, however, the sensor on most mobo's are pretty crappy. Mine, for the most part shows up as 10-11C cooler than my core temps, however time to time it will show up as high as 200C+, so yes, you can just ignore this reading.
