Is This Weird?

ok i have my settings for CS:S for everything default except i can't use high texture detail. i only can use medium. my vcard is a 6800NU. is this normal? when i try ot use high texture detail it gets laggy.


2800+ althon xp 1gig of 3200 ram value ram. 6800 NU 16/6(unlocked) is my specs.

i posted this in the nv topic too but no one really responds there. btw i have the latest forceware from nv.

128mb of ram on 6800nu? so im guessin thats why you cant?

Update your chipset drivers, as my 6800 runs PERFECTLY at 1280x1024, max texture,shadow, etc, 2xAA 8xAF. If you can tell us what model motherboard you have, we could find your chipset drivers for you.

NF2 with a gfmx440 integrated. btw i go to my device manager and i right click and update driver everything there that i kno is a hardware. whats even weirder is that it only happens on so far maps like de_dust_ and dust2.

You need to install the chipset drivers from nVidia if you have a nForce2 motherboard.

I have a 6800nu too but it's just 12/6 @ stock (325/700) and this is what CS:S "recommends".

should i install the SW ide drivers? i chose no. after i installed this. with high texture detail i got this error in my console with lag.

can anyone tell me whats wrong...

also got this while running the stresstest for steam. also when the stresstest first began there was 6 errors spinning in a circle. is that whats suppose ot happen or are those actual errors?

Reinstall HL2 and CS:S, or go to steampowered and verify your files. I get the same spinning error messages too. I think I read somewhere they are aware of it and should be fixed soon.
