Is this true .264 dot pitch

All 19" LCDs that have a native resolution of 1280x1024 pixels have .294 dot pitch so yes, that's a mistake.
 
Yes Roger that's what I thought was true also. Sound's like Jawad knows somthing we don't.
Do you have this LCD Jawad, why is it not hard to believe ?
 
All major 7 brand name has .294 dot pitch on their 19". This is because whoever makes that screen, decided to construct it at .294. Say samsung, so everyone else who bought it from Samsung will have to be 0.294. There is no exception.

It doesn't have much do with the brand nor did anyone "decide" it should be .294. It doesn't really work the same way as with CRTs. You can't make a 19" LCD with resolution of 1280x1024 and dot pitch of .25 for example. Dot pitch on LCDs depends purely on resolution and viewable area. Unlike CRT, LCD has *exactly* 1280x1024 pixels (or whatever its native resolution is). That's why 17" LCDs have smaller dot pich than 19" LCDs do. They have the same resolution but 19" LCD only has bigger pixels.
 
So if this LCD did have a .264 dot pitch it would have to have a rez. higher than 1280*1024...Right..?...but it doesn't so I guess it's a TYPOO on the .264 dot pitch...?
 
So Rad777 do you think there is an LCD panel manufacture that is putting out a .264 dot pitch 19" LCD panel that NEC and Fuji are useing in thier 19" displays ?
If so that would be nice. I alway's thought .294 dot pitch looked a little big and blocky on a 19" LCD.

Correct. Whenever you find a 19" LCD with .264 dot pitch you can be sure it's a (perhaps deliberate?) typo.
 
It has to be a typo. For a 19" diagonal measure and a 5:4 aspect ratio you end up with screen dimensions of 14.8365" wide or 376.847 mm and a height of 11.8692" or 301.487 mm

376.847mm/1280 pixels = .2944 mm/pixel

301.487 mm/1024 pixels = .2944 mm/pixel

Well then how does all those 20" has 0.25?

19" is just a bad choice btwn. 17 and 20, so most people go w/ either 17 or jump to 20". Therefore, 19" manfacturer decided not to put enough R&D to create a low dot pitch.

Because they have a higher resolution? Read the TheTMan's post. It's all about resolution. You can't "decide" what dot pitch you want to make when it comes to LCDs. If you were to make a 19" LCD with the same dot pitch as a 17" one, you would have to put more pixels (ie higher resolution) because the viewing area is bigger.
