Is this to much AS5?

After having my temp problem, I took the advice, and reapplied AS5.

When I took off the HS/F, this is the amount of AS5 that was on the chip. Is this to much? To little? I would say I put just about a little less on the new appalication of AS5.

You should have a THIN coat over the whole heat spreader. Looks like you put a blob in the center.

Which is one perfectly good way to apply it, per Arctic Silver's instructions.
 
with the core being in the middle i would imagine that having it cover the entire IHS would probably do nothing.
