I've just been reading about the 6600GT's with SLI coming out ($199 each?!)..

So, would I be right in thinking a new mobo with pci-express support, and two of these cards (with the relevant fastest cpu), would be the daddy doom3 machine?

If so, what boards are available or coming out? :D

Right now you'd have to have dual Nocona chips on a Tumwater chipset...a very expensive solution for Doom3.
 
Besides the Vapochill route, the ultimate system of the near future will be an
FX53, two BFG 6800Ultra OC Water Block in SLI
WaterChill for the CPU, 2 GPUs, and chipset.
The water lines will have anit-freeze in them, and run into a mini freezer set up next to the computer.
Ah heck, the entire computer will be in the freezer, with the power, keyboard, mouse and other cables exiting thru a hole drilled into the side wall and sealed.

I mean, why put the freezer in the computer (Vapochill), when you can put the computer in a freezer?
