Sys specs:
ASUS P4P800-VM
Prescott 3.0ghz @ stock - on a Vantec CCK 7025 HSF & a layer of AS5
Corsair VS (Model: VS512MB400C3) 2x512 = 1GB
Radeon 9600XT

I get about 38c idle and 49-50 load. This is normal? TIA

if its a prescott, thats good, you only need to worry for a intel cpu when its going over 75c!

My friend has a old 1.9GHz willamette that runs all day at 70c! been like that since he's had it for about 3-4 years now.

lol, that's good know. That aftermarket Vantec is all copper... I was hoping for a little lower temps.... maybe I put too much AS5?

My daughters P4P800-Deluxe With Zalman 9500 25c idle load 39-41c 3.2c Pat all in.

Fan set at constant 2300rpm I just went over to it with a high use screen saver running

idle cpu 25c M/B 28C

I don't have a Zalman 9500, but its good to know that i'll get temps like that if I did :)

I also paid only $20 for the Vantec.... the Zalman is like $50-70 for a HSF! And I don't plan to do any overclocking.
