I am australian and there are only 2 stores selling twinmos 512mb 184 Pin DDR400 ram. However, these stores are selling this =
LEGEND / TWINMOS OEM 512Mb 184Pin PC3200 DDR400

Is it the same stuff or different? What is the LEGEND part?

It is TwinMOS, but it is not the good TwinMOS. Try to find the TMSP model name- it's about 50USD for a 512MB stick.

Should be descent.
Unless you want to overclock I wouldn't worry about what chips are on the RAM.

I can get OCZ Value UTT Winbond 2x512mb ram for about the same price - is that any good?

No, the TwinMOS SP will be better than the OCZ Value VX.

Well I am O/Cing so I had better try and get some sp "down under" which is hard because THE CRAPPY AUSTRALIAN DEALERS DON'T GET GOOD STUFF!!!

:p

which one - no really because newegg.com won't and monarch etc. are expensive + all the extra costs would be a fortune + it would take half a year to get here

With ram being the ultra-sensitive component it is, i'd recommend you purchase from a merchant with a no-hassle return policy. Otherwise you risk being stuck with defective ram and little recourse. When you find this highly rated merchant, just pick out your favorite sticks and be done with it, or you can post the choices here for us to help you pick ;)
