i've got a GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H mobo and thinking of buying a ati HD4670 graphics card would this psu be any good -

CMPSU-650TXUK - 650W TX Corsair PSU, single 12V rail, energy efficient, quiet & cool,

Yup, great PSU I now have several. They run cool and quiet and have a great warrantee:)
 
It's definitely overkill, but it's certainly an excellent PSU. One of the best 600-700W units out there.
 
i've got a cpu fan and a fan on the graphics card will i need another fan if i have 650w psu?

You don't need to add an extra fan for the PSU; it already has one inside.
 
pw29010, this was for upgrading an E correct (according to the other forum)? Is your current PSU the stock Bestec? If so, change it to the Corsair, even if you do get the lower power requirement 4670. Heck change it to a Corsair even if you don't upgrade the video if you still have the stock PSU.

PW, you should be able to run the cables to an empty drive bay and stuff 'em in there. If you're able to, take off the opposite side panel and route them behind the motherboard tray.

Your case's maker and model would definitely help us though.

I get the feeling you're trying to upgrade a factory built computer. Am I wrong?
 
you r correct it is a emachines 3230. im trying to put in a gigabyte Ga-72PVM mobo and the psu. i can't seen to find casesmake or model
 
If it's an eMachines, the case maker and model doesn't matter. Just take all the extra cables you're not using and stuff them in one of the larger drive bays. The bays you use for CD drives and such. That's about all you can really do with them.

Or else, get a larger zip-tie and ball them up at the top of the case. It'd be kinda ugly, but you're probably not showing this rig off very much.

I would be tempted to get a new case, but it really depends on what you're willing to spend. If you're good with the emachines case then I would just keep it.
