Is this PS really all that?

This has got to be about the highest rated PS out there. Looking for something for my new conroe build and this seems really nice with some great reviews on various Hardware sites as well.

I guess compared to the Antec HE's this seems like a pretty good PS....any thoughts?

Its very much all that. What system are you looking to power? I doubt you need 500W

and a bag of chips? I don't know...I used to use Enermax exclusively but lately other makers have caught up and surpassed them for affordable power supplies. From what I've heard some people swear by the Liberty and others swear at them...of course this is true for any popular psu.

Not to many supplies can be had for less then the Liberty but have better quality. And the Liberty is modular.

Ya, that's nice, it has a little folding case for the cables too...very classy. Seems like a good choice when compared to the Antec 500 neoHE...what I like about the antec is how quiet its supposed to be.

Is this PS as quiet as the Antec neoHE?

The Liberty is very quiet, but I'm not sure about the Neo HE. I know that the NeoHE is based on a Seasonic S12 which is probably the quietest their is without being fanless.

I'm biased because I work here but I think it's better than the NeoHE and the Liberty.

Well there are more powerful (and more expensive) PSUs out there (up to $500 and beyong if you look at 1kw models) but most people don't need those. Personally, I have never spent more than $50 on a PSU, and that was just in a pinch when I needed one right away, I prefer when they come with with case.

Granted, I don't tend to run them too hard, the most I ask is a couple optical drives, a few HDs, and the CPU (with which comes the Core 2 Duo us pretty low power anyway). There is no need for a super expensive CPU unless you are dumping stupid amounts of money into other areas or are building a server of some sort.

Here's the newest review http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.aspx?articleid=857&cid=1 from the [H] main page...they test it against the OCZ GameXstream 700w and both got very high marks. If that's the one you want I don't see any reason not to get it.
