Is this power supply adequade?

Hi guys, I'm looking for some assistance here. Ill list my specs to help you guys answer my question:

-Pentium 4 2.4C overclocked to 3.0ghz
-OCZ 1GB (4x256) PC4000 DDR (when overclocked it goes to 4000)
-Abit IC7-G mobo
-ATI 9800 Pro all in wonder
-Audigy 2
-dvdrom
-DVDRW
-Two 7200RPM 250GB Maxtor SATA 150 HDD's

I currently have a 400 watt antec PSU, Would this be adequade enough for these upgrades? Thanks!
 
It sounds like you already have this comp, so haven't you already used it?

Anyways, 400 watts is more than enough for it. 350 would already be enough.

edit: Yes, I noticed that you left out hard drives. But unless you had something over the top, it's fine.
 
Actually I have most of the parts, just not the rest. What I dont have right now is the ATI card, the DVDRW and the two HDD's (listed below).

Oops..Looks like i left out a major component. Really tired right now, sorry. The other items are

Just wondering is there a program which can measure my current watt usage? or some kind of a tool which I can plug into it to measure?
 
That guideline assumes way too much and shouldn't be taken seriously. It neglects to address the varying abilities of power supplies to provide amperages to the major rails. It also fails to consider that the listed devices don't draw from all of the voltage rails evenly at all.

But yes, your current power supply should do the job fine.
 
You definitely dont need anything larger then that Antec 400w PSU for that setup. 350w will handle most mid-high range systems just fine. Wattage rating isn't what you really need to be concerned about anyways. Its the efficiency rating, the actual wattage supported on each rail, how loud the thing is, the quality parts it uses, and how hot it gets. Cheaper PSU's tend to use cheaper parts which in turn get hotter and waste more power. Only buy name brand Antec, Enermax, PC Power and Cooling, FSP Group style power supplies.
