Is this only a problem on lowend LCDs?

Well at school they have the cheapest LCDs out there the 15 inch dell ones that are a year or 2 old. They suck though because they look like a screendoor because I can see the black spaces betwen every pixel. So is this just a problem with lowend LCDs? Because I'm thinking of getting one in the near future and I sure don't want to see the spaces between every pixel.

It is frequently reported with the Dell 2005FPW as well.

I dont experience this with my Samsung LCD though, but on my 2005FPW I do.
