Is this LG IPS display quality?

I've seen this on ebay as a refurb for 159.99 shipped, and it's got the inputs I want (DVI and HDMI... although displayport would be nice, it's not really required for me right now).

IPS screen, LED backlit, full HD... what am I missing? It claims a 5ms response time, but that's grey-to-grey of course, so it's probably more like 8. But even so, I'm on a 5ms TN monitor right now (old Acer) and it doesn't bother me in games.

Anybody own this monitor?

Which do you think would look better, IPS or MVA? The MVA is an inch bigger, they both have the same inputs. EDIT!!! The Asus only has VGA and one HDMI. That blows.

LG IPS and Asus MVA

Both have much slower response times compared to pretty much all other modern displays but since I don't know the model of your current display so I can't say if they will be any worse. Like Hanif the LG display has a very grainy anti-glare coating, this applies to all matte IPS panels found in Dell/HP/NEC/Asus ect, since they are all made by LG.

In terms of VA panels the BenQ BL2400PU or T (U for north America T in Europe) is the best and costs around 200$. The VW and EW BenQ's use the same panel but have bad color presets.

I just found a refurb of the LG IPS236V-PN on Overstock.com for 159.99, with a 10% discount coupon and free shipping... it's 144 dollars shipped. I'm almost willing to just go for it. The backlight bleeding can't be that bad.

I'm currently using an Acer 22" 1680x1050 TN panel for crying out loud.

The corners glow white with the lights on and the LG's are super grainy. I would rather donate my money over buying the LG. Spend a bit more on the BenQ BL24 you won't regret it

I can't find the BenQ in the states. It's 275 at a UK site. If I'm gonna spend 275, I might as well spend 300 and get this:

Yeah I can't find it either, odd since they are sold for 200$ in Canada. Go for the Dell, just remember it will be grainy
