Is this laptop any good?

Was thinking about buying the DELL INSPIRON 17 1764 (specs). I can get it for around $540 out the door. Basically I am looking for the cheapest i5 laptop I can find and this suits the call. Let me know what you guys think.

The specs are pretty good, however it depends on your use. for school work this should hold just fine for about 5-6 years considering you use open office or office 2007 (2010 should be fine for now but can't be sure for future use) of course i5 will be much better and you might be able to find for around same price (give or take $25) even core i3 will be upgread against core 2 duo.

i would suggest searching more as you can get something better for cheaper. if you really want 17inch screen than go for this one, but for around 399-549 you can get much better laptop with 4GB ddr3 and 500GB or so HD and newer model with windows 7.only downside the screen might be around 14-15.4 inch depending the time of sale. look around newegg and other site, google is your friend for this.
