This happens randomly. I hear the drive spin down and then spin back up. Sometimes, this cycle goes on indefinately and wont end till I shut down/ restart. Sometimes it can pick itself back up after 1 cycle.

Its a 160 GB WD IDE drive. WD site says its out of warranty, but I'm pretty sure it is if I can dig up a receipt.
 
naw, its still kicking.

i can get read/write off of it fine. backup up stuff mostly now.
