Is this Good or Bad?

This is from the thread i have in water cooling, I want to make sure im doing the oveclocking right. The thread in the w/c section is...http://www.hardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1452376

My questions are on the bottom ;)

Here are some pics, im not fully finished...

Most of the bubbles and foam have worked their way out. ;)

So is this voltage too low or can I bring it down even lower? I've only notched it up from (two notches in the BIOS) 1.2v I want to make sure im doing this right. It appears to be stable ;)

Isn't it also a little strange that the voltage goes down slightly on load?
Thanks in advance.

You can try lowering it more to find the lowest voltage the chip is stable at. As soon as it becomes unstable, raise it up a notch and try again.

No, that's fairly normal.

The voltage going down is normal. It is called vDroop. The increased load placed on the rail will cause the voltage to drop. This varies from motherboard to motherboard.

+1. Some motherboards can minimize/reduce the amount of vdroop and you may have that setting in the BIOS (load line calibration). That's a good voltage for that frequency.

Alright thats good to hear. Is there anything else I should change voltage wise? Shootin for 5ghz ;)

Sorry for the nooby questions, I've only overclocked an e8400.

Thanks

I know, but i plan on trying. Things are looking pretty decent right now. ;)

I've seen a few chips hit 5.0GHz on Nitrogen cooling. I would say aiming for the 4.0-4.4GHz range is more reasonable. Just remember to keep the voltages within their respective safe ranges.

I overclocked to 4ghz with HT on, was around 55c on load. 1.25v. This is fairly reasonable correct?

Well i tried for a few mins last night to get up to 4.2ghz with HT. I kept bumping it up from 1.25v to 1.3v and still wasn't stable. Wasn't stable without HT at 1.293v (I didn't try it at 1.3v). So, I know this has been asked a million times already, but how high can I go with voltages? 1.35v?

Thanks.

I took some new pics, here's one :D

Are you Prime 95 stable for 8 hours @ 4ghz with HT on @ 1.25v ??? If so, we'd like to see the screen shot because your vcore is actually pretty low.

Well...I was stable with OCCT for 10mins, and I've been using it for the past few days. Which includes a lot of Killing Floor game time and watching a couple movies :p. Not exactly a fair assessment but I havn't had any probs.

I'll get that screenie soon. I'm at school right now.

Here's some pics. Unfortunately, it wasn't as stable today. Which is no surprise considering I only tested it for 10mins. Its at 1.265v atm.
And yes, can't wait for Dragon Age! :D
Idle.

Load. I've had it running for a couple hours before...

Should I be changing any of the other voltages?

Thanks in advance! ;)

Well unfortunately my ram gets errors on OCCT, so I imagine it will on other stress programs. So, does anyone have some suggestions I should try? I've never messed with over clocking ram. Always left everything on auto.

Also, what about those other voltages?

Thanks,
KI
