Is this for real?

i could have real low temps to if i wanted to go deaf. did you see that fan? looks like a delta screamer or somthing. lol $90

Looks like a XP-90C with a loud ass/high CFM fan strapped to it.

Wow. These guys are hilarious.

Thermaltake Pipe101 - (sold here; this is THE same heatsink)
$38.99

+

92mm to 120mm fan adapter
$4.95

+

Arctic Silver 5
$5.99

Subtotal: $49.93 + S&H

So, the other $40 went into writing that piece of marketing, am I right?

Besides, putting a 120mm fan over that Thermaltake heatsink is a bad idea, because the copper fins are too densely packed. You get backpressure, more noise, and less air through the heatsink body. Stupidity, I tell ya.

I want to meet the guys who bought that... and ask if they have any extra money they can spare.

I have one of those a,uminum fan adaptors and it's pretty nice. I can see why it adds to the cost. The webby also claims that temps will be good if it's used passive too.

I used to use 1 Cool PC back when they were 3dfx Cool - they had what were essentially card coolers in all shapes and sizes. I bought my Tom Luefkens pelt from them too (a low wattage pelt that reduced temps decently).

I don't know how serious about cooling performance they are now though. I was reccomended a Thermaltake water cooling kit when I asked about something a while ago.

$40 for an aluminum fan adapter? I've got an aluminum 80mm-to-60mm unit, and it cost $7. Mind you, it wasn't forged from one block of aluminum, it is just folded sheet-aluminum. Does the job too.

That heatsink cannot be good for passive operation, as the fins are too densely packed together. Air cannot flow in and out of the heatsink body in a passive scenario. I honestly doubt their high reseller rating if they're pulling off stuff like this.

so is it bs?
there is a 30 day return policy
anyone wanna try it out and give us a review?

It does look like BS, sorta. Read post #7

The good part is it gave us an idea on how to assemble the same setup ourself...for less ;).

quoted from the site: "The fan on top is a kick ass 120x120x38mm ball bearing monster"
i have a feeling the term "kick ass" is a nice way of saying "loud as f*ck"

lol...dell is selling cpu coolers now? :p

That contraption must be louder than hell. Volt modding it or going through a fan controller should lessen the noise. But, who would want to spend money on a overpriced air cooler setup? I wouldn't.

If you are asking if they are a real company, they are. I ordered a 500 watt powersupply for $20 one time with a strange internet special gimmick thing. They are a strange company to say the least but every now and then I check up on that website because you will see stuff nowhere else on the net.

"500W" for $20.

They have stuff nobody else has because they market it that way.

it's reassuring to me that i'm not the only one to recognize that heatsink right away.....now i'm just "really geeky" instead of "as geeky as they come" when it comes to computer cooling.

no reason that a 120x120x38 fan has to be overly loud. i have several reasonably quiet ones. there's still no reason to get that product. it's overpriced crap.

Eh... but I stay within the realm of air cooling, you go far beyond. :p

I see enough heatsinks to know what's what...

I would not buy from that site, it's really overpriced crap. they are selling this case with a 420watt power supply for $145 http://www.1coolpc.com/cases/8850specs.htm. svc has that same case for $15 and i'm guessing the 420watt psu is going to be there $20 special. Plus shipping on that case from svc is around $10, so all total your spending $165 for a pos case, cheap ass psu and overpriced shipping. nice place.

This is a good company, but yeah some of their prices are OMFG.

I used to do buisness with them when they where 3DFXCOOL BACK IN THE DAY.

They are one of the original OG geek hardware overclocking stores. Right there with 2cooltek.. that isnt 2cool any more (new owner/crappy n00b store).
