Is this as good?

70.5 CFM / 119.8 CMH oh yea its great for the price .. i say go for it. I've had several Scythe fans go out on me through the years .. Over the long haul ...they're not reliable.
 
I bit on it... ordered 2 to replace the cooler master case fans I currently have that are about the same noise level, but run at 1200rpm with only 40cfm

You never, EVER go off of mfg rated specs, they are fluff numbers, and you also did not say which scythe fans you had, probably the cheaper sleeve bearing fans, when this fan is in the GT price range and I have had most of my GTs for years in computers that run 24/7 and the fans are humming along just fine.

The fans in question are still new and have not much in the way of real reviews on them, just allot of user "feels", which has proven in the past to be very wrong as many people don't really know what quiet is. Also, the few people who do compare them to the GT line of fans say they are close or the GT's win, and this is in a case style cooling setup, and the GT's are not known for being the best case fans anyway, so it does not look to good for them. Though it would be nice to see some real reviews on them coming out and see if these might be a cheaper option to the likes of NB etc.
 
Well, since I still intend to get GTs when I watercool I can compare them then. Just don't know when that'll be.
