Of course it would be.

A Good rule of thumb:

New Generation > Last Year's Generation (in terms of Hardware).

But, I'm sure many people on here would suggest to you that you might as well buy a regular 6800. It is in close price vicinity as the 6600GT especially on Black Friday @ Compusa = $199.99 :) .

But, do whatever you want....Good luck bro!

Thanks.. wait is the 6800 better than the 6600GT because ihave been confused.. it is ddr3, 128-bit , 8 pipelines, but im guessing the 6800 will be better cuz the 256-bit plus the 12 pipelines? whats the friday night thing at compusa? i can get it for 199$?? ahaha nice, i want the XFX one, will they have it, XFX own!!!

O'Doyle has got my number.

The AGP version of the 6600GT is overpriced compared to the PCI-x version at the moment. They want $240 for the AGP so the thinking goes Why not pay $10 more and get a BGF6800OC ? Hard to argue against that.

Now when the 6600GT AGP can be had for $200 in your hands, thats different.

Hmmm gotta check the ads. Friday would be the day to buy if you dont mind getting up at 5:30am.

lol im 14 cant get up that early.. say money isnt an issue.. what card should i get midrange cards!!?? 6800 or 6600GT

6800nu is better than the 6600gt.. and how much money can u spend?? if u can spend 400 get a 6800GT :)

**EDIT TO A DOUBLE POST** i keep double posting!! how do i delete my double posts??

well get a 6800nu at outpost for 250 and 230 with 30 MIR on black friday and total of 200?

well actually ive been looking at the 6800 OC BFG.. that looks better than the 6800nu, but the best clock and speeds are on the 6600GT :) plus ddr3 im so confused

Dude, the 6800 oc is the same as the 6800 nu. They both should be referred to as just "6800," because that is what they are classified as. I refer to them as the regular 6800 to prevent further confusion.

6800 OC (BFG's version of the regular 6800 but it is overclocked a little bit, hence the "O.C." part. It's pretty much minimal and not really noticeable according to many people here).
6800 NU (I think people just started naming it "nu" for "NON-ULTRA." to prevent or in this case add to the confusion  )

Basically though, 6800 series will be faster than the 6600 series despite all the numbers and mumbo-jumbo DDRSUPERDUPER RAMSINKWILLYWINK! However, the unique-ness factor of the diagonal heat sink fan is quite gorgeous in my opinion (I think that's for the AGP version, I think).

Also, I think you have made up your mind on which videocard you want, which is the 6600GT (I read one of your posts on another thread). Whatever it is, goodluck!

thanks oyu.. for black friday can i find a 6600GT there? and for qwut price and where should i go??
