i have three HZ281s and on startup this one doesnt give the welcome windows logo and motherboard screen for bios before going straight through to my desktop.

It only loads when the desktop is loaded. Could this be to do with this? if it is a dead pixel? Im not sure why it is green though , aren't dead pixels usually wihte from the lcd light? the only other green light as you can see is the on button, it seems to be shimmering from that. weird

dead pixel are black. that is a stuck pixel.

I had a green stuck pixel previously and I know how boring is...
If you can, ask you vendor a refund (you have 15days to ask it but this may vary from country to country) and buy another monitor.

The question here would be is the green pixel(s) always there?

If so - then yes - you have a stuck pixel.

Also - as far as the monitor not loading before the desktop - in a multimonitor setup, only the main GPU's monitors will display the BIOS and loading windows splash screen. The other monitors won't load until windows loads.

Don't jump to conclusions. You should at least test the monitor in a single monitor setup first.

i have just discovered another one on my furthest right screen. can't believe it. What is this 15 days warranty? picture of furthest right screen to come.

and i was just about to google how to avoid dead pixels. daaaaaam

edit: just read first sentence of this in wikipedia
Manufacturer policy

In LCD manufacture, it is common for a display to be manufactured that has a number of sub-pixel defects (each pixel is composed of three primary-colored sub-pixels). The number of faulty pixels tolerated before a screen is rejected is dependent on the class that the manufacturer has given the display (although officially described by the ISO 13406-2 standard, not all manufacturers interpret this the same way, or follow it at all).

Some manufacturers have a zero-tolerance policy with regard to LCD screens, rejecting all units found to have any number of (sub-)pixel defects. Displays meeting this standard are deemed Class I. Other manufacturers reject displays according to the number of total defects, the number of defects in a given group (e.g., 1 dead pixel or 3 stuck sub-pixels in a 5×5 pixel area), or other criteria.

In some cases, the manufacturer sends all screens to sale, and then replaces the screen if the customer reports the unit as faulty and the defective pixels meet their minimum requirements for return.[5] Some screens come with a leaflet stating how many dead pixels they are allowed to have before you can send them back to the manufacturer. Dead pixels may tend to occur in clusters; in most cases displays with such a problem can be sent back to the manufacturer.

That is at least 10 stuck pixels. Return.

oh, nevermind wikipedia talking about how many pixels: It is a shame i spent about £80 in logistics getting these monitiors back and fourth to my crib. I will have to wait until i return to london to enter their only store

gere is my newly discovered(second dead/stuck on same model monitor to the right)

First, people are speculating from a very low quality picture that it is a cluster of dead pixels - but to be frank - the quality of the picture is so low - it is completely possible you only have one bright dead pixel - and what we are seeing is simply the blooming from the out of focus picture.

Second - if it is a stuck pixel - it will be green all the time. No matter what is on the screen. If it's not always green and not in the same place - it's not a stuck pixel. If it's a stuck pixel - you should be able to see the stuck green pixels the second the monitor is turned on.

If it's a stuck pixel - there is a possibility you can massage it out using a cloth and gently - well... massage it. Alternatively you can use a program that flickers colors where the stuck pixels are and sometimes can "reawaken" the pixel.

I've received a monitor with two stuck pixels recently and what you're saying is wrong. Displaying white over a green stuck pixel will display white. The green sub-pixel is stuck on but the red and blue sub-pixel can still turn on.
