Is this a scam or something?

So I was looking for 1TB SSDs and some guy with 100% feedback over 453 reviews is selling 1TB Samsung 850 Pros for $43. The only thing curious I have seen is that the feedback is strange because it shows him having 453 reviews and 100% positive feedback, but he hasn't had any seller feedback in over a year it seems. Also the auction name confuses me where it says the item is new and "In Excellent Condition - Only 1.7TB Written"

What does that mean? Only 1.7TB written.

Can anyone set my mind at ease? These SSDs everywhere else are really expensive (probably b/c they're discontinued).

Only 1.7TB written.

The drive measures the total amount of data written. This is very good if it is true. However at the $43 price I would be very cautious. I would expect the price to be 4 times as much if this was a legitimate sale for a used 1TB 850 pro.

Well, it's covered by eBay's money-back guarantee so i'll purchase it and see what happens. Not sure how he could list it as new if that's the case that 1.7TB has been written on it.

Also, I have no idea why these are so expensive everywhere since they are old drives... looking on Samsung's website this is the first generation of their SSDs because since this one there has been the 860, 960, and 970.

10 year warranty on these drives. Very high reliability.

I paid around $500 for my 1TB 850 Pro years ago..

With that said I would not expect the warranty to transfer.

Gotcha. I guess i'll update if and when this transaction goes through. I am not holding my breathe. I am highly suspicious.
