I do not have a mulitimeter to test my PSU so I am wondering if this sounds like a PSU problem. I don't even know how to describe my problem well, but I'll try. I usually keep my compter on 24/7 but sometimes I turn it off on hot days to give it a rest overnight. I have turned it off twice in the last month and the problem happened both times. The computer will not turn on. I press the power button and if I hold it I hear the computer TRY to turn on, it chugs, just like a car that is trying to start when you hold they key.
I opened up the case, cleaned everything, reseated my HD and my two GTX 680 4GB GPUs, tried again and it worked the first time. This second time it didn't work. I thought it might be overloaded so I removed one GPU and it worked. The thing is I have had two GPUs in it for years. This is an old HP Blackbird gaming rig that I rebuilt last yar. I changed everything EXCEPT the PSU which is now 5 years old. I do not know the brand, all I know is it is a Power Supply 1.1 kW Modular Cable Design
Has anyone ever heard of such a weird problem like this?
