Is this a possible scam?

I know this ain't relate to anything on this forum, but since this is where people discuss about trading, I might give it a try other than GenMay.

Here is the story.

On Sunday, I successfully bid a MBP 15 on ebay, and paid for it right away.
Then I asked the guy to ship the item asap with priority, and he agreed.

Since I really need a laptop right now, especially this week. I asked the guy again on ebay if I can just come pick up the laptop since its not far away. He haven't reply since Sunday.

Now, normally I wouldn't mind waiting for the guy to reply, but things starting to get suspicious. I look at the transaction and check up his real name in paypal, it says "Ever De Santiago".(Paypal verified on the bright side)

This really give me a shock right there, I should have pay attention to this in first place. I asked couple of my Spanish friends, they all agree that this definitely not sounds like a real name.

I understand its only 2 day passed so far, but I am extremely paranoid with that name with only 2 transaction that both are car parts purchasing, none of them are selling.

Since I have never deal with eBay before with this kind of things, I need some advice on this, and I seriously need a laptop right now for personal problems.

Since this is going to get closed, I'll respond quickly.

If he hasn't sold anything on ebay, and that is such a high value item you will either get your item or your money back. Paypal will put a hold on those funds until you leave him positive feedback or 30 (maybe 45) days pass without a dispute.

BTW only stuff pertaining to [H] go here.

The guy's email start with pewee13 .. which I am getting even more suspicious...

I tried to put up a dispute, but it doesn't allow me to do it until May 1. This is ridiculous... Hopefully it doesn't take a month to get my money back.

Might give a shot in GenMay if I have to, I am quite frustrating right now..

I am not quite sure what in the world I was thinking when I purchased the item.

Just because someone has a strange email, or a strange name on paypal doesn't mean they are out to scam people. You can request his contact info, including phone number through ebay and try and call him or since it isn't too far away, go visit him.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a shot when I have some free time today.

Ok, I tried to call the number I got through the eBay..

It appears to be a mail box or something. It just keep asking me to leave a message. Sound's like the phone number is a entire setup just for scam, not even a pre-recorded voice of the owner.

Now I just feel like getting pwned by myself..
