NO OVERCLOCK whatsoever on ram, cpu, etc. All stock. I7 920 cpu, 3 gigs of ram.
3dmark06 score was 18,736. Is this low?

why dont people just log into the orb with the THOUSANDS of records and do a comparison search...
...and still not impressed with its comparison and equipment
accuracy. My latest score was GPU19780 and CPU14436 at
my current below statistics.
Besides, doesn't OC'ing the GPU have more of an impact then
OC'ing the CPU?
How does one *officially* OC the 4870x2? Does the ATI
Overdrive section count or should one go into the bios
of the card? Interesting. -keith
The OCing of GPU comes after the CPU, having a bottleneck will reduce the potential of the video card so regardless how many video cards you have, you still have the CPU to compensate. Having a high OC on the CPU you will see your video card score jump up without even overclocking it. Once you overcome the bottleneck then the GPU clocks will directly impact the scores.
You can OC via overdrive but most people tend to use other programs so they can monitor/control temperature, voltages, fan speeds, as well as shader clocks... most people do it via software so when something does fail or go wrong then it can revert back to stock clocks. Bios ocing is more into CPU ocing than video cards
I personally use Riva Tuner, you can use CCC, ATI Tray Tool/ATI Tool... remember to OC at your own risk and not to get carried away with numbers, take it by increments and research more. OCing/voltage changing too high can kill your hardware.
why would you build a rig like that with only 3 gigs of ram?NO OVERCLOCK whatsoever on ram, cpu, etc. All stock. I7 920 cpu, 3 gigs of ram.

Not to thread jack but I have a simular setup. Right now at 3.8ghz for cpu I get 24xxx in 06. My prob is that when i have both my cards xfire'd i get 24xxx??? Same score for 2 4870x2's at just 1? Anyone else experiencing this?
3D Mark has the newer Advantage with a separateas already stated above
3dmark06 doesn't count GPU score that much as CPU...
for such benchmark program is NOT ACCURATE AT ALL.....
People need to stop comparing the 3dmark06 score, its totally irrelevant...
More CPU horse power, more score you get ... Bottom Line....
Vantage, not advantage
