Is this a motherboard problem?

So FedEx screwed me big time. When I got my computer (I shipped it overnight cross country), the memory had popped out of the slots, the processor had many a bent pin and the hard drive (might have been?) was screwed over. I ordered a new HDD (its SATA) and tried to install windows on it, but after formatting it, setup said that it could no longer continue because of errors. I tried two other hard drives, all experienced the same fate. The two others I tried were PATA, and a bit older, but they still ran the operating systems that were on them (linux). I have an abit AN8 SLI. Whats the problem here? I feel like since I tried two different types of hard drives (SATA and PATA), that the trouble might be somewhere on the motherboard... but I dont want to go out and spend even more money on a problem that may or may not exist. The BIOS sees the drives fine and everything... I just cant seem to format them and install windows. Help?

you may ahve a memory problem.have you checked your ram or tryed ram from another computer.run memtest and see if any errors come up.many times when you cant install windows without errors its memory related.

hmmm... a memory problem? It specifically says that the hard drive is corrupt. Likely? Ill try swapping out memory. Thanks for the advice. Any others?

True, but if setup is copying something to memory, or using memory at all, before making a write/read operation, it might not be able to detect the exact root of the cause.

When I overclock too much, and my system crashes, the OS tells me that the cause was due to a "wireless network card driver error". I dont own a wireless network card for this system lol.

I'd gather a memory or CPU error (bent pins?)... Now, it's true that your board could be defective, but considering the way the RAM was treated.

have you Reset the CMOS?

So, is fedex paying for this...?

I replaced my cpu, and swapped in some new memory. The problem persists. I just ordered a new mobo from NewEgg.com. If this doesnt solve the problem, Im getting a laptop : /

I dont know whats happening with the whole Fedex thing. I just got to college across the country from my house, so my dad is taking care of things back home and isnt telling me anyhitng. I REALLY hope we get something, because this is utterly ridiculous.
