would putting a piece of plexi where it is on the diagram to hide the from the power supply, would it work right?
 
Would it work, as in, will it affect the functionality of the case? No, it wouldn't. I used to have a Centurion 5. All that would do is make it harder to hook up the optical drive unless you add a side window as well.

I would be purchasing a sata optical drive and put it in prior to putting in the plexi.
