Is this a good 3DMark score?

I ran 3D Mark2001 today and got a 4069 Benchmark for my system below. Is that good? Not sure how to interpret the results.

No, that may be an OK score for your system, but it is horrible as far as today's gaming goes. That video card is bottlenecking your system's ability so bad that I'm surprised that your cpu doesn't just get up and leave. Go get you a ti4200 if at all possible, a 9700pro would be lovely for about $140, or a 6800nu for $299. But for god sakes, do something.

If your into gaming get rid of that video card. As for recommendations depends on how much you want to spend and what type of performance you want. Look online at any one of the thousands of reviews you'll find on the subject.

Hehehe, tr00.

Anyway, sorry 4 stealing your topic d00d, but i really didint want to make a new one.

So, my 3DMark01 is horrible.
My system:
AXP 2500+ @ 3200+ 200MHz FSB
Asus 6800'GT' (390/922)
512MB DDR Kinston 333@400
Gigabyte Ga7n400L Ultra 400

I get stupid 17500, but my friend with P4 3.0Ght, R9800Pro, and some nonamed RAMs gets around 20k! WTF is wrong with my machine?

But how do your games play? You probably have AA/AF VS or something on that improves gameplay.

Games run smooth, d0h. But still, I was expecting @least 20k.

I dont have any AA AF on, while benchmarking. x:

your cpu bottlenecked. i got 16K with my 9800 Pro with the same cpu i have now, only got a bump to 18K with the new x800 Pro.

Pickup a 9700pro or drop a little more on a 6800nu. Heck, even a 6600GT/X700Pro would do nicely. Help your CPU!

Thats rite, you got a point there.

Okey, im GIVING my Asus 6800 'GT' out for free. First one, who replys for eet, will get it.

that GF4 is an MX im guessing and thats SOOO holding that thing back i get 20k in 01SE on near the same specs with my GT so get some thing like 9800Pro or 6600GT AGP and that should help alot

I'm planning on replacing my card soon(like, hopefully this Friday ;) ) but wanted to get a baseline on what "good" marks are. This card is only 64Mb, it's a couple of years old, and for some reason there's a high-pitched "whine" that comes from it when being used. I just bought a stick of memory for my laptop($100!!! :( ) so my card may have to wait a couple of weeks. I'm not a HUGE gamer but that little "whining" is getting pretty annoying. I know it's the vid card cause I replaced it with a PCI vid card I had laying around and the noise goes away.
Thanks for all the input. BTW, I went to the "Black Friday" website and saw these two cards: Mad Dog FX5200 128mb AGP for $29.99 and a ATI All in wonder 9600XT 128mb for $124.99 @ Compusa. These will be on sale Friday. Any input on these two cards? I REALLY don't want to dish out the extra $$$ for an "all in wonder" card cause I already have a TV tuner card though. And yes, I'm a believer in the "you get what you pay for" but still would like input ;) .
