Hi, found a p4 2.4C cpu with Batch/FPO:L318A731 and rev D1, is this a good one for oc'ing??

Thanx:)

Keep in mind that OC'ing is as much luck of the draw as it is what chip/setup your using.

Manufacturing is about tolerances and specifications. Not all CPU's are going to react the same to overclocking even if they came from the same batches. However that does improve your chances of getting a good one to a large degree.

Although I had one of the 2.4C's that was the so called "desireable" stepping and model. I never could get the thing to even post past 2.6GHz.

Yup, that's the only way to tell. I have 2 2.8c chips, one would do 260 fsb and the other 246. both were D1 stepping.
