I have a Asus GTX670 Top that I've not have any issues with (knock on wood, since it's one of the more notoriously unreliable variants of the card - at least at its release). I've been running it with a +275 core overclock ever since getting the card which lets it clock up to about 1305 or so on the core.
In any event, just recently I noticed when playing Darksiders 2 that sometimes when going back to the main game from the character menu screen (where you switch weapons, look at the map, etc.) that the game would hiccup, I'd sometimes see some graphical artifacts (black textures, etc.), though not always, my screen would go black and then come back and performance will have deteriorated. Kicking out of the game it seems the card comes back locked to an idle clock speed and won't boost.
Now, I'm used to seeing a driver recovery when I was initially testing my overclock when running Heaven, but that would usually throw up an error prompt of some kind through Windows. This doesn't throw any such prompt, the card just seems to clunk out and come back without the OS even complaining about it.
At first I chocked it up to a Darksiders 2 bug or something, but it happened to me when running the new version of Heaven last night. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to clock back the card and try to run it again and see if the clocking affected it, but I'm just wondering if this is an observed overclocking issue or even an observed issue with the Nividia 600 series in general? I'm not sure what to search for to check this and what I have searched didn't bring up much that seemed applicable. It just seems weird that this just started happening out of the blue so I wonder if it's a driver issue instead of the card's clock.
It only seems to happen when a "scene change" happens. For example, going from the menu in Darksiders 2 back to the game, and it crashed on Heaven when it was fading into a new "section" of the benchmark. It doesn't seem to happen out of the blue in the middle of gameplay.
