I have an APC Backups EPS 350. I my PC connected to it with a 600 watt cooler master power supply thats powering a 2 hdd's, a dl dvd burner, e4400 core 2 processor, and 9800 non pro vid card. I have 2, 22" LCD monitors plugged into the surge protection plugs but not the battery back up plugs.

This thing has worked fine for a while now. And sometimes the alarm goes off and its all good because I figured the electricity in my apartment had a hiccup or something and caused it. But today is a little different. For no apparent reason at all, the alarm just keeps going off and its getting more and more frequent. In addition to that, my monitors started to display skewed images and it was a little unnerving. I just cut my PC off then checked it and the UPS. Nothing seems wrong. I dont see why anything has changed from previous days but something is odd.

I know my description might be a little vague but thats all I can really describe given whats happened. I was just wondering if any of my symptoms seem familiar to anyone.

would say this. That UPS is very small for the system. That APC 350 would have about 150 watts or around that of power, so most likely the alarm would go off when your system would try to pull around that number. I would def get a larger UPS.

Does your computer work if your not plugged into the UPS?

Yes.

I am getting a new UPS btw. But I've had the power go out and the ups kick on and the pc is powered without a hitch. Since I made the first post, the ups has stopped raising the alarm. I'm thinking it was something with the electricity at this apartment. But I'll continue to keep an eye on it.
