Is there any way for me to manually change my IP?

I was wondering if there's any way that I could manually change my IP?

some clown hijacked one of my user names on a different forum and pulled some stupid crap and now my account's been IP banned.

so I need to figure out a way to change my IP on my own (if thats possible).

some times you can go into your router and use it to renew your ip, its a long shot tho and you usually get your own back, i did it a couple times and finally got a new one.

I take it chatting it up with the admin isn't going to solve this?

Send the admin an email and explain the situation -- they should be able to tell it was a different IP who posted, same username/password or not.

As far as changing your IP; well, that could be as simple as turning your modem and router off for half an hour (or so) and then turning everything back on... or as hard as having to call your ISP and see if they'll alter it for you.

On most dsl/cable routers you can change the Mac address of the router in the config panel. Do this, release and renew, and you should have a new ip.
