Is there any difference in Resolution?

Merry Christmas to all,

I am in the stage of upgrading in next 4 to 6 months, and I was wondering is there
any big differences in resolution in 1920 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600 LCD Monitors because I
was looking at the Hp 30 inch LCD monitor or save money and get a 24 to 27 inch
Monitor?

that's quite a big difference, but without a monster graphics card, GTX/GTX SLi, you'll find it difficult to game at a 30" resolution (with options high/max). hell, you'll struggle with 24" without a high end card, i'd think.

at any rate, this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/Vector_Video_Standards.png shows all standard resolutions on it, but beware if you're on 56K, its a huge image.

I will be getting the new 8800GTX or maybe something better that might come out in the
next 4 to 6 months?

I find the extra video inputs on a lot for the 1920x1200 screen really useful, also the horrible resolution options on the big 2560x1600 (30") screens and complete lack of anything other than a single Dual Link DVI input too anoying for the money you pay for them. Given your time frame I would probably go for the 27" Dell or maybe the BenQ FP241WZ. If the desktop space ends up anoying you, get a second one =).
