Is there a web screen width, height dimension calculator?

Given a monitor's diagonal measurement along with the aspect ratio, is there a web calculator that will calculate the width and height of a display based on that information? I'm ashamed (or lazy) that I cannot readily figure it out from my high school trigonometry. I do believe a 22" 16:10 monitor will give more screen area then a 23" 16:9 monitor.

I believe TV Calculator just show's the viewable image size for a certain screen size and aspect ratio in comparison with a reference screen size and aspect ratio image, not the native screen height and width.

tv calculator shows everything, it is extremely useful when comparing displays

Pixel Size Calculator

22" 1680x1050 (16:10) display area = 473.86 mm x 296.16 mm = 140338.38 sq mm
23" 1920x1080 (16:9) display area = 509.17 mm x 286.41 mm = 145831.38 sq mm
5000 sq mm is about 2.5 square inches.

Select None as source image and you get the screens width and height.

you could always use Pythagorean's theorum and do it by hand. a^2 + b^2 = c^2.

a = aspect's horizontal component times x.
b = aspect's vertical component times x,
c = screen's diagonal size.

for example 24" 16:9
(16x)*2 + (9x)^2 = 24*2

solve for x.

Oh I see, that's what I wasn't doing. I have considered the Dell 2209WA to replace my PVA Viewsonic VP230b but wonder if the real estate gained is worth it as I'm happy with the colors and contrast of the Viewsonic. You do gain about 3 1/2 inches horizontally while giving up just a small fraction of an inch vertically so maybe it might be worth it. Still wondering if the Dell can match the contrast of the Viewsonic, wish I could see them side by side.
