Is there a free HD recovery software? (after quick format once)

Hi,

Is there a pc HD recovery software? I had to restore my toshiba laptop, and it formatted all of the HD partitions. Since I had not yet placed any data on it, I think it still could be saved.

Please utilize the search function. There are plenty of previously threads discussing this.

TestDisk should be able to help, as long as that Toshiba thing just formatted the drive/created the partitions. If it went further and started copying files to do the actual factory restore, you more than likely have lost some data, but how much will depend on how deep the file copying process went.
